A much-loved actor-director combination is back with the Tamil remake of Tumhari Sulu, and director Radha Mohan could not be happier. When he first watched the Hindi original, he did so for Vidya Balan, “a terrific performer”. When he was approached for the Tamil remake with Jyothika, he was more than happy to come on board.

The South Indian film industry will go on a strike starting today owing to a disagreement between producers and the Digital Service Providers (DSP). The Tamil and Telugu industry have confirmed their participation, and the Malayalam and Kannada producers may join them in the protest against the Virtual Print Fee (VPF) levied by the DSPs. The strike was called following the failure of talks between the two parties.

India woke up on Sunday with news of the shocking demise of actress Sridevi, 54, who made a mark in Hindi and the Southern film industries. The actress, who was attending a wedding in the family, passed away in Dubai on February 24, following cardiac arrest. She is survived by her husband Boney Kapoor, and children Jhanvi and Khushi.
