What’s making the news

AR Rahman has been named the official brand ambassador of Sikkim. He would be composing the tourism anthem for the state and will also be holding a concert around March. The maestro posted a video of the inauguration ceremony of the Red Panda Winter Carnival in Gangtok.

One would assume that Padmavati or now Padmavat’s troubles would end with the announcement of the release date but the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje Scindia, has said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie will not be allowed to release in the state.

“The sacrifice by Queen Padmini (also known as Padmavati) is a matter of honour and respect for all of us and hence we will not allow anyone to show disrespect to this honour,” she was quoted as saying.
