I Should Be The Poster Boy For The #MeToo Movement: Woody Allen

Woody Allen, the 88 year-old filmmaker-actor described that he must be the poster boy for the #MeToo movement. Talking to an Argentine show, Allen expressed his support for the #MeToo movement and said that he was happy that a movement like this will bring justice to the terrible things harassers do.

Allen said that it is unfair that his name has been added along with the other Hollywood figures who were pulled up for sexual abuse. He also added that he has worked with all kind of actors – the big ones, the famous ones, the ones just starting off and has never misbehaved with any of them.

However, one cannot sideline the letter his estranged adopted daughter Dylan Farrow penned to The New York Times in 2004, accusing him of sexual abuse, when she was seven years old. But, Allen vehemently denied the accusation and said that his daughter was spinning a crazy story.

“This is something that has been thoroughly looked at 25 years ago by all the authorities and everybody came to the conclusion that it was untrue,” he told The Telegraph. The issue broke open once again during the Harvey Weinstein scandal, after which dozens of actresses pledged not to work with him.

The accusations against Allen not only divided Hollywood, but also brought in a divide in the family. Recently, Allen’s another adopted child Mosses, wrote a lengthy letter clearing out the issue saying his father was not guilty of any crime and that Dylan was cooking it all up.

However, Dylan is still supported by her mother Mia Farrow.
