The seventh season of Game Of Thrones was out this year, and was subjected to a number of episode leaks before the actual airing of the show. Unsurprisingly, the TV show was the most pirated series this year.

According to Esquire magazine, TorrentFreak, a website that covers file-sharing and piracy, released its annual list of the most torrented TV shows of the year. The show also has one of the best ratings. According to the New York Times, the season seven finale ended up breaking records for the HBO show with 12.1 million viewers watching it on television.
