It came as a rude shock when Hollywood’s favorite stars passed away in a weeks span of time. Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, were both given a fond farewell in a private memorial service at Fisher’s Los Angeles estate, next door to Reynolds’ own home on late Friday.
Carrie Fisher passed away after a heart-attack. She was 60. Her family chose a specific urn for the Star Wars actress who was also a mental health advocate; at the ceremony, her ashes were held in an urn shaped like a Prozac pill, a form of anti-depressant.
Fisher’s brother – Todd Fisher – was photographed carrying the oversized pill after the ceremony on Friday. He said that the urn was in his sister’s house as an ornament for many years. As per a report by Entertainment Tonight, Todd Fisher said, “Carrie’s favourite possession was a giant Prozac pill that she bought many years ago. A big pill. She loved it, and it was in her house, and Billie and I felt it was where she’d want to be.”
“We couldn’t find anything appropriate. Carrie would like that. It was her favourite thing, and so that’s how you do it. And so they’re together, and they will be together here and in heaven, and we’re OK with that,” he further added.

Carrie Fisher has been candid about battling bipolar disorder and has given candid interviews about the struggles and joys of it. In a 2000 interview with Diane Sawyer, she made waves for saying “I am mentally ill. I can say that. I am not ashamed of that. I survived that, I’m still surviving it, but bring it on. Better me than you.”
The actress in her memoir Wishful Drinking had even joked about having a Bipolar Pride Day.
