Veteran Telugu actor Tammareddy Chalapathi Rao, known for playing comic and villain roles in over 600 Telugu films, said at the pre-release event of Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam that girls were not harmful, but useful in bed. After facing a backlash from fans and colleagues, Rao now says that his comments were misinterpreted.

His children issued a statement via Twitter: “Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people. With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated.”

Twitter has suspended Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s account after he posted a series of offensive tweets, especially against women. A complaint was filed after he abused some female Twitter users, including JNU student activist Shehla Rashid.

“There is rumour she took money for two hours and didn’t satisfy the client… Big racket,” he tweeted about her.

Several users reported his tweet and account, following which Shehla thanked everyone for silencing the singer.
