Reema Lagoo, veteran actress and beloved Bollywood mom, passed away earlier today after a sudden cardiac arrest. She was 59.
She was known for her roles in films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Maine Pyar Kiya and Kal Ho Naa Ho. She played strong maternal roles onscreen, and her performance in films Maine Pyar Kiya, Aashiqui, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun..! and Vaastav even fetched her four Filmfare awards for Best Supporting Actress.
Lagoo had reportedly been admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai at midnight, after complaining of Chest Pain.

Speaking to PTI, Lagoo’s son-in-law Vinay Waikul said, “She was complaining of chest pain so we took her to hospital around 1 AM. She passed away due to a heart attack around 3.15 AM. She was perfectly fine and had no health issues…so it is really shocking for all of us that she is no more with us.”
Bollywood actors and fans have paid rich tributes to Lagoo on social media. A memorial service is in the works as well, reports indicate.
