Queen Kannada Remake to Have Parul Yadav, directed by Ramesh Aravind

Kangana Ranaut starrer Queen will be remade in Kannada and Telugu, with Ramesh Aravind directing the two films. The Kannada version will be called Butterfly, as per a report in TOI, and will see Parul Yadav performing Kangana’s role. Shooting for the remake will begin April 30.

While Parul Yadav has confirmed her role in the Kannada version, it is still uncertain who will play the Queen in the Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam versions. Originally, Tamannah Bhatia was shortlisted for the Telugu and Tamil versions, but IndiaToday reports that the film has been shelved. Other reports say she walked out of the project over a disagreement on remuneration.

Meanwhile, Indian Express writes that of the many names suggested as director for the remake, the producers chose Ramesh Aravind.
