Popular Remix Singer Nitin Bali Dies In Car Accident

Nitin Bali, popular remix singer from the Nineties, died due to injuries suffered in a car accident at Kandivali (East) in the early hours of Tuesday in Mumbai. He was 47.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 12) Vinay Kumar Rathod told The New Indian Express that Bali, who was alone in the car, was going northwards on the Western Express Highway from Malad to Borivali. He was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, and hit the divider.

Bali was rushed to hospital where he was given first aid and his facial injuries sutured. He was later discharged. The local Kasturba Marg police arrested Bali under sections 279 (rash and negligent driving) and 337 (causing hurt by endangering the personal safety of others) of the IPC and the Motor Vehicle Act; he was later released on bail.

It is said that after reaching Malad, Bali suddenly vomited blood, his blood pressure skyrocketed and he collapsed. He was rushed to the Shatabdi Hospital at Kandivali, where he was declared brought dead.

According to a SpotboyE report, the funeral will take place on Wednesday. Bali is survived by his wife Roma Bali, a television actress, and son.

Nitin Bali made his debut in the Indian music industry with the 1998 album Na Jaana. He was was best-known for singing the remix version of  songs such as Chukar Mere Man KoEk Ajanbee Haseena Seand Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, among others. He last sang a song for the 2012 film Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi.

Bali was one of the early singers to try their luck in the growing market of remixed songs. His rendition of Neele Neele Ambar Par became an instant hit and started the trend of similar songs.
