Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan will be seen in a guest role in Karan Johar’s upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Director Karan Johar confirmed the news and said, “I haven’t directed a film with him in the last seven years, but he did a scene for me recently in a film that is going to release in Diwali and after seven years when I directed him, I realised nothing had changed. He knew exactly what I was expecting of him and I knew exactly what he was going to do.”
According to sources, Khan’s role will play the husband of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s character in the film. According to reports, SRK’s character will die early in the movie.
The film’s teaser was recently launched, and has received mostly favourable reviews. The multi-starrer has Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, with Fawad Khan roped in for a major role. With Deepti Naval, Lisa Haydon in supporting roles, the film has been scheduled for a Diwali release on 28 October this year. It will go head-to-head with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay at the box office, a prospect that has lent itself to some unsavoury controversies.

Khan, meanwhile, will also be seen in a guest role in Sonu Sood’s upcoming horror-comedy Tutak Tutak Tutiya. The actor, who also lent his voice for the film’s trailer, will reportedly be seen in the film owing to his friendship with Sood.

Apart from cameos in other films, Khan has one release this year – Dear Zindagi with Alia Bhatt, directed by Gauri Shinde of English Vinglish fame. The actor also has action-thriller Raees, directed by Rahul Dholakia, slated for a late January release next year. Khan will be essaying a noir character as a bootlegging kingpin. He is currently in Prague shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s The Ring with his Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi co-star Anushka Sharma. He also has a film with Anand L Rai in the pipeline.
