Actress Ileana D’Souza has been criticised for her participation in singer Atif Aslam’s latest music video. BJP has criticised the actress, and the music label behind Aslam’s album – T-Series, for participating and promoting the work of the Pakistan based artist.
In 2016, the Raj Thackeray led MNS had asked for a ban on artists from Pakistan following the Uri attack. The problem is ongoing, with Raees actress Mahira Khan being asked not to promote the film.
The problem for the BJP, with Atif Aslam’s music video, is the fact that the music director of the video, Shiraz Uppal and the lyricist Shakeel Sohail are also from Pakistan.
The actress has not commented on the issue thus far.
