Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been acquitted by the Bombay High Court of all charges in the 2002 hit and run case.

Trouble began for Khan in 2002 when his Toyota Land Cruiser car veered off the road, killing one man who was sleeping on the pavement and seriously injuring four others. In May 6, 2015, a trial court had convicted the actor in the case, and awarded 5-year jail term . However, the high court said there were not enough evidence to charge Khan.
The court had been reading out the verdict in the 13-year-old case since Monday, and today, the judge Anil Ramchandra Joshi stated that the prosecution had failed to establish that the actor was behind the wheels at the time of the accident or that he was under the influence of alcohol.
