“I am producing the film and we are working on the script. It will start in January-February. It is a fabulous story. It is not going to be an exact copy of the film, we will change things. But at the same time, quite a lot of stuff will be similar.”

Nishikant Kamat, who worked with Devgn in Drishyam, will direct the film. At present, a female lead has not been cast yet. The team will begin the casting process once the scripting is over.

Jigarthanda, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, chronicled the lives of an assistant director named Karthik (Siddharth) who decides to follow Madurai don ‘Assault’ Sethu (Bobby Simha) as research for his debut directorial. The film garnered rave reviews.
