Alt Balaji takes on the mystery behind Subhash Chandra Bose’s sudden, unexpected death in a plane crash as inspiration for its new web series, Bose Dead Or Alive. Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao plays the fiery leader who wanted Indians to be proactive in their quest for independence.
Of course, the title and much of the series’ characters seem to suggest that Bose miraculously escaped the crash; and from a cursory look at the trailer, director Pulkit seems to focus on that aspect as well. Rao plays the strong-willed, fierce leader with quiet conviction, explaining early on in the trailer the difference between a revolutionary and a slave. Much of this is dedicated to him, so we see his rise from a mutinous student to a fiery leader who dared to take on the British, at a time when others were preaching non-violence.
Reshu Nath writes the series, while Hansal Mehta is the creative producer. Patralekhaa Paul, Edward Sonnenblick have pivotal roles in this series that is yet to get a release date.
