Singer Abhijeet In Trouble For Abusing Journalist On Twitter

Bollywood singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has a police complaint filed against him after sparking off a Twitter fight with Janta Ka Reporter‘s editor-in-chief Rifat Jawaid and journalist Swati Chaturvedi. Basing his rage on ‘anti-national’ grounds, the singer who is known for being vocal about his right-leaning opinions, exchanged heated retorts with both the journalists on social media.

In light of the recent murder of a Chennai-based Infosys employee who was hacked to death at a railway station, Abhijeet had tweeted the following giving the murder a communal colour:

Hindu parents want justice for Swati/revenge for our child who was butchered by love jihad.

After facing criticism from the two journalists, Abhijeet went on a tirade of tweets expressing how he was being targeted by “presstitutes” and he was not someone to take insults from anybody.

Meanwhile, the journalist, Swati Chaturvedi, filed a complaint against the singer with the Delhi Police while the Mumbai Police have said they will take strong action in what appears to be a case of sexual harassment.

Responding to the police complaint, the singer told ANI News in an exclusive interview that he was not afraid of a police complaint, and that this matter wasn’t over.
