He was given a week to apologise, but Salman Khan instead chose to e-mail a response to both the committees separately through his lawyer. In his email to MSCW, the actor allegedly questioned the jurisdiction of the panel since the NCW was already looking into it.

Unsatisfied with the responses, MSCW has sent out fresh summons to the actor, ordering him to be present in the office on 7 July. On the other hand, the NCW have summoned the actor again on the following day.

Chief of NCW, Lalitha Kumaramangalam pointed out that if Salman Khan does, in fact, respect women as he claims, then he would understand the damage he has done to the feelings of rape victims by his insensitive statement.

The actor’s comment had even irked a gang rape victim from Haryana who demanded a compensation of Rs. 10 crore for the damage his statement caused.

In the meanwhile,  although the actor has not apologised for his comment, his father Salim Khan has on his behalf.
