‘Mostly Sunny’ Director Dilip Mehta: “Has Sunny Lost Her Spunk?”

Sunny Leone has disassociated herself from Mostly Sunny, a documentary film that takes a ‘no-holds barred’ look at her life thus far, for as-yet-unknown reasons. Reports indicate that Leone and her husband/manager Daniel Weber, are now trying to block the film’s India release.

Mehta told Deccan Chronicle that Leone wanted some nude scenes to be cropped out of the documentary ahead of its Toronto Film Festival premiere. Mehta declined her request.

“I can’t possibly ignore the fact that throughout the making of the film, she never once said, ‘hold the role’ or ‘cut that scene’. It’s now that she appears to be self-conscious of full frontal nudity. That’s confusing. Has Sunny lost her spunk?,” Dilip Mehta told  Deccan Chronicle.

Netflix and iTunes have bought the documentary for worldwide distribution. “I believe they will start broadcasting January 2017 onwards. Her distancing herself from the documentary is hilarious and yet disappointing on a personal note. For me, that’s indicative of the fact that her publicly stated stance of ‘not giving a damn’ is farcical, a PR exercise,” Mehta added.

Sunny Leone left behind a flourishing career in pornography to concentrate on films. She debuted with Jism-2, and has since made a career out of making special song appearances.
