“I’m Not Mr. Perfectionist but Mr. Passionate”, Says Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan says he is not too fond of the Mr. Perfectionist tag. In an interview with journalists ahead of Dangal’s release, Aamir Khan said he is not too fond of the Mr. Perfectionist tag associated with him. “I am not a perfectionist. Perfection doesn’t exist in real life. It’s a wrong title for me. When am doing a scene I am looking for the heart of moment. A scene should have that magic. If I get that magic, the shot is complete for me. I will not go into the technical details. Am passionate about acting. So I should be called Mr. Passionate and not Mr. Perfectionist.” he said.

All of Aamir Khan’s films since Ghajini have released in December, with all but one released during the Christmas weekend. When questioned about this pattern, Khan said, “I am hoping that my previous films didn’t work because of luck. They worked because people loved them. My films get ready at the end of a year. From a holiday point of view, both Diwali and Christmas are two important dates. It’s more of a coincidence that my films get released on Christmas, but it’s a happy coincidence. I like Christmas.”

Written and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal has Aamir playing an aging wrestler. His character is based on Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his daughters Geeta Phogat, the first Indian female wrestler to win a gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2010, and Babita Kumari, who won the silver, the same year. Aamir Khan went through a drastic weight change for the role, which required him to weigh close to a 100 kgs.
