This Week in Tamil Cinema: January 12, 2015

As we’re firm believers of the ‘bad news first’ school of thought, we thought we’d tell you right away about Trisha Krishnan’s wedding. The actress put an end to years of speculation about her nuptials last week, and broke the hearts of many male fans in the process. Otherwise, it was business as usual in the Tamil film industry – Dhanush had a brilliant week – the trailers for Kakki Sattai, Anegan and Shamitabh were released; I almost got delayed yet again; and another controversy hit Lingaa. 

In happier news, it rained features at Silverscreen this week. All the hilarious responses to Trisha’s wedding announcement were documented for posterity; director Rajeshwar was spoken to, Veshti day was celebrated with appropriate songs and the seven best onscreen couples from 2014 were honoured.

Photo-wise too, we had a nice week. Srushti Dange and Andrea Jeremiah promoted their films. Said appearances gave way to HQ galleries, which were all kinds of awesome.
