Veteran Hollywood star Morgan Freeman has been accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior by 16 women, reported CNN. According to their investigation, of the 16 women, eight of them called harassment, some women said it was inappropriate behavior, while a few women witnessed inappropriate behavior on set, during movie promotions.
Describing an incident, a production assistant said, “Freeman “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.” She also told CNN that he would try to touch her and make comments about her figure and clothing.
The Oscar winning star of films like Driving Miss Daisy, Shawshank Redemption, issued an apology after the sexual misconduct allegations came to light.
“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected — that was never my intent,” Freeman said in a statement.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reported Harvey Weinstein is expected to be arrested in New York on Friday on charges of raping a woman and forcing another to perform oral sex on him.
“He will be charged with first-degree rape and third-degree rape in one case, and with first-degree criminal sex act in another,” said the report.
