Samantha and Naga Chaitanya in Talks for Telugu Remake of 2 States

After the success of Bollywood adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘2 States: The Story Of My Marriage’, talks are on to cast real-life couple Naga Chaithanya – Samantha Ruth Prabhu in its Telugu language adaptation. The book was already adapted in Hindi with actors Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. While the Hindi film stayed true to the book’s premise, it is expected that the Telugu version will undergo some major changes.

The Telugu rights for 2 States have been acquired by Abhishek Pictures and the production house has announced that V V Vinayak’s former associate Venkat Kunchem will take up the remake. It is said that the rights were bought for Rs 55 lakhs. Reports indicate that actors Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh are also in the running to be cast in major roles in the project.

Samantha and Naga Chaitanya have acted together in films like Ye Maya Chesave, Manam and Autonagar Surya; and recently opened up about their rumoured relationship. The actors have said that their wedding will take place in 2017, with the consent of both their parents.

Though there had been many reports that actress may quit acting in films post the wedding, they have been proven false. Samantha took to Twitter to put all rumours to rest and said that she is ‘looking forward to more movies in the future’.

While Samantha has had two Tamil and three Telugu releases so far this year, Naga Chaitanya is awaiting the release of Telugu remake of Malayalam hit Premam which is set to release on the 7th of October, for the long Dusherra weekend.
