Idhu Namma Aalu Release Stalled In 2 Areas

Idhu Namma Aalu, a romantic comedy starring Simbu and Nayanthara, is seeing a nationwide release today. However, the film’s release in the North Arcot and South Arcot regions has been stalled, following a petition filed by  financier Sanjaykumar Lalwani. In the petition, Lalwani alleges that that ‘Chimbu Cine Arts’, the producers of the film, had borrowed Rs. 1,09,000 from him in August last year, and had promised to repay the loan along with the interest prior the film’s release. He further says that it was agreed that the theatrical rights of North Arcot and South Arcot would be given to him.

Following non-repayment of the loan, Lalwani filed a petition against the film’s release. The petition was heard by the Madras High Court on Thursday, with the judge ruling in favour of Lalawani, and imposing an interim stay on the release of Idhu Namma Aalu in the North Arcot and South Arcot regions.

Idhu Namma Aalu, has run into delays in the past, and was in the news over a Twitter confrontation between director Pandiraj, and STR’s brother and music director Kuralarasan.

The film also stars Andrea Jeremiah, Soori, and Adah Sharma in supporting roles.
