Actress Revathi has stayed out of the spotlight for the past two years and it’s now clear why. She had adopted a baby girl sometime back and was busy raising the child. The actress revealed the news on her 48th birthday (July 8).
Along with a picture of her posing with her baby girl, Mahee, the actress wrote :
To add to all the happiness…. Just want to share the reason for my disappearance for a while, rather a couple of years…
My daughter MAHEE… She has taken over my life totally and has changed it… Filling it with beautiful moments…

Revathi was married to fellow actor and cinematographer Suresh Menon. They separated in the year 2002 and were granted a divorce last year. The actress was recently seen in the Hindi film 2 States and in Osthe back in 2012. She follows other popular single moms including actress Shobana who adopted baby girl Ananthanarayani in 2010 and of course, the former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, who is a proud mother of two girls – Renee and Alisa.
