In Adhiraj Bose’s Interior Cafe Night, two couples meet in a Kolkata cafe — two of them rediscover love, and the other two part ways with broken hearts.
Naseeruddin Shah, the owner of a cafe, bumps into his ex-flame played by Shernaz Patel one night around the closing time of the cafe. His face lights up in the serendipity of the moment. Shah, the towering performer, totally owns the scene. Smiling like two coy teenagers, the couple starts talking. Three decades have passed since their last meeting. The setting — a near-empty cafe at night, and a lovely old Hindi melody playing in a radio — is perfect for the rekindling of love. Meanwhile, two young lovers (Naveen Kasturia and Shweta Basu Prasad), bid a tearful adieu to each other at another table in the cafe, almost mirroring the past of Shah and Patel.
