Bret Lee’s ‘UnIndian’ To Release In India On 19 August

Cricket star Bret Lee’s UnIndian, has scheduled it’s Indian release on 19 August. Directed by Indian-born Australian director, Anupam Sharma, the movie is a romantic-comedy with Indian film actress Tannishtha Chatterjee in the lead female role.

The movie was released in Australia on 15 October, 2015.  Owing to trouble in finding distributors, the movie’s release got delayed in India. The movie is now presented by Krian Media in India and the Middle East.

Director Anupam Sharma says the film intends to redefine the Australian story, bringing its immigrants to the forefront, in a contemporary Sydney setting.

The movie, shot in Australia, is a cross-cultural story of a romantic relationship between an Australian teacher and an Indian single mother, Meera. The roles are brought to life by the lead actors Brett Lee and Tannishtha Chatterjee.

Brett Lee, in his interview to The Guardian, said that the movie had one central message: “Love has no boundaries. Love. You can’t help who you fall in love with.”

In a review posted by The Guardian, the movie is described as a  “date movie, a film for audiences partial to a bit of romcom fluff who don’t mind being taken down the garden path when it comes to predictable storytelling tangents”

Brett Lee made his debut in Bollywood in the 2009 film, Victory. He played a cameo role. He also recorded a single with legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle in 2007 titled You’re the one for me
